Office Hours and Appointments

Monday - Friday (8:30am - 5pm) ... Saturday (By Appointment Only &                                                                                    Additional $20.00 Charge)

Telephones open at 7:30 a.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays to schedule sick appointments for that day. It is often difficult to anticipate when your child may be ill, so in order to facilitate scheduling sick appointments, we have dedicated a phone line for sick appointments only at each office between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. During all other business hours and on Saturdays sick appointments should be scheduled through our main phone line.

Sick appointment lines:
Sandy Springs: 404-256-0447
Woodstock: 770-592-6719

Whenever possible, when you call for an appointment, your stated preference for an individual physician or nurse practitioner will be met. When special needs arise, please ask for a consultation, and we will schedule extended time.

Our licensed pediatric assistants and registered nurses are available during regular office hours to answer most of your questions. When necessary, or upon request, they will refer your questions to one of the physicians or a nurse practitioner.

After Hours and Weekends

One of our physicians is always on call 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency please call one of the office numbers day or night, 404-256-2688 (Sandy Springs) or 770-928-0016 (Woodstock) and you will receive instructions on how to reach the on-call physician. We are pleased to partner with the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta @ Scottish Rite Nurse Advice Line for after-hours telephone advice.

Routine Physical Exams

Try to schedule your child's next routine exam 1 to 2 months in advance to ensure an appointment with the provider of your choice (to see when your child is due, check out our well child appointment section). Also try to anticipate the need for a physical exam for school and camp forms to be completed.

Appointment Cancellations

If you need to cancel an appointment, we request that you give at least 24 hours notice for physical exams and 2 hours for sick appointments. This will help us to meet the needs of our other patients. Failure to cancel an appointment may result in a charge to you, which is not covered by your insurance company.

Prescription Refills

Most prescription refills, if requested prior to 4 p.m., can be handled on the day requested. Please make sure you know the name of the medication, the dose, the form (liquid or tablet), the date of last refill, and the name and number of your pharmacy. A nurse or physician may call you to discuss the refill if the patient has not been seen for regular check-ups or if the prescription needs to be adjusted.

Prescription refills for patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder take at least five business days, since by law they cannot be phoned to a pharmacy; you must have a written prescription which you can pick up at our office or we can mail to you. Please plan accordingly.

To determine the cause of your child's symptoms and the appropriate treatment, it is in your child's best interest to be examined by a physician. Therefore, we only call in prescriptions for maintenance medications for chronic problems. We do not call in antibiotics for suspected infections.

Hospital Affiliations

We see newborn patients at Northside Hospital. If you are delivering at Northside Hospital, notify the admission team that Northside Pediatrics is your pediatric group and they will notify us of your child's birth. If you are delivering at another hospital, your baby's initial exam will be performed by physicians outside our group. After you are discharged from the hospital, you should call and make a newborn appointment at our office to be seen within 48 hours after discharge.

We admit any patients who require a hospital stay to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta @ Scottish Rite Hospital.
