Seasonal AND H1N1 Flu Information

We have no seasonal or H1N1 vaccine, and will not be receiving any more this season.  However, we urge you to immunize your children ( 6 months and older) against influenza.  Remember, children under 9 years of age need 2 doses of the H1N1 vaccine and 2 doses of the season flu vaccine if they have not received seasonal flu vaccine in past years.  The health departments generally have a good supply.

***Regarding the H1N1 vaccine recall:  None of the recalled vaccine was in our offices, so if your child received an H1N1 vaccine at Northside Pediatrics, they received the correct potency of the vaccine.  If your child did receive the H1N1 vaccine at another location, please contact that location for information regarding their supply.  For more information on the recall, visit http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/syringes_qa.htm?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter***

Northside Pediatrics follows the CDC guidelines for infection control and treatment of the H1N1 influenza outbreak.  Please check www.cdc.gov, http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1/, or http://www.aap.org/advocacy/releases/may09swineflu.htm  for current recommendations.
