Dr. Ruth C. Brown, a board certified pediatrician, graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, and completed her pediatric training at Emory University School of Medicine where she served as chief resident. Prior to joining Northside Pediatrics in 1982, she provided pediatric care for mentally and physically handicapped children in the Atlanta area. She is a member of the staff of Northside and Scottish Rite hospitals. Dr. Brown has served in many leadership roles in the medical community, including being elected President of the Medical Staff of Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. Her honors include the Wood Lovell Award, the Miracle Maker Award and the Special Achievement Award from the GA Academy of Pediatrics. She is the mother of two adult children. Dr. Brown has been named one of Atlanta's outstanding physicians by Atlanta Magazine, and outstanding physician in the southeast by Ladies Home Journal. She has a special interest in early child development, parenting, and adolescent gynecology.
